Christmas Tree Garden- City Lot 1 WEST end

Ellie M. June 1, 2026 at 4:14 PM
We do not have a steward for the large garden on the West end of our City parking lot where the city Christmas tree is located The Butterfly garden on the North side of the sitting area is covered, but not the area with the Christmas tree and evergreen mix. Current goal is to update this garden along with the one on the other side of the sidewalk next year (2027) but in the meantime we need to keep this one looking as best we can. If you go for a stroll by this garden and see a weed, please feel free to pull it out. There are vines that keep appearing and it's tough to get to their roots.

Is this the part that is needing a steward?

Yes, I’ve been able to get down there a bit but anyone is welcome to help! Those vines are very thin and difficult to get yo the roots but grow rapidly.

I was out there today 6/27, and is there any way that the lower branches of the evergreen be lopped off?? They're all dead or almost dead and it might help the health of the tree if they were gone. Is this City or can I do it? Not sure what those little viney things are either! Maybe seeds in the mulch? So far, have them under control....

I cut a few branches off earlier this year and no one complained.
